Grain Dust inside Grain Bin What is Peterson's Dust Solution? The Ag Duster control system is an oil dust suppression system that sprays a fine mist of FDA approved food grade oil on your product. Once a thin film of oil is deposited on your product, the oil reduces the friction that causes kernel breakage and reducing dust by a minimum of 95%. Cleanup time and equipment maintenance is greatly reduced due to the dust control.


Where can I use Peterson's Dust Solution? We offer a fully installed automated system for large grain or fertilizer applications and a portable system to fit your farming operations grain leg or auger needs. This system complies with hazardous and non-hazardous locations of your plant and is applicable to all ranges of bushels per hour. We furnish all material, labor, wiring and training for a complete operating system.

 
What products can I use Peterson's Dust Solution on? The Agriculture Dust control system has be en used to treat dust on multiple grains, corn, soybeans, wheat, feed, seed, fertilizer, and soybean meal.

 

How much oil is required for treatment of grain? 1.25gallons per 1000 bushels.


How much oil is required for treatment of fertilizer? 1 quart per ton typically (dependent on type the type of fertilizer and the quality)


Does the dust control pump run continuously? Yes, it does. The system is designed to recirculate the oil to warm it up to try to maintain a consistent viscosity.


Does it matter how the nozzle is placed in the holder of the dust control system? No, the nozzle sprays a cone pattern, so orientation does not matter. However, when reinstalling the depth in the holder does matter. It could get to far in and be in the product stream which would accelerate wear or be too far away from the product and not do the job as intended.


Are there any system alarms? Yes, for low or no flow thru the manifold we the system should be applying oil.


What are the benefits of the dust control system? Less exposure to airborne dust problems. Capture approximately 90% of the fugitive dust that would normally be lost. With fertilizer there will be less corrosion on the equipment.


Typical installation time for the Ag Duster system? or a typical grain system 1 – 2 days. For a typical Fertilizer system less than a day.


How much space is required for the Ag Duster system? The pump assembly is 24” tall by 48” long by 10” deep. This will be mounted to a wall typically. Manifold is 24” tall by 12” wide by 6” deep. This will be either mounted to a wall or a piece of equipment.
